Talking with Liora
Last updated: 23 October 2026
Who can change her AI
Liora's AI chat is run and paid for by her creator, Bliss. It is off in every server unless Bliss switches it on, and only Bliss or her Mother can change its settings on the dashboard. If you run a server and would like it on, or want her to have a different personality there, ask Bliss.
What she does
Liora is a friendly AI who lives in her servers. You can talk to her by mentioning her, saying her name, or chatting in her own channel. She can:
- chat, joke, answer questions and join conversations
- send GIFs and pictures that fit the moment
- remember server lore (inside jokes, running topics) that the community shares with her
- set reminders and timers you ask for
- suggest other communities from her Library when you ask her for one
- help staff: when a moderator or admin asks, she can warn, time out, kick or ban someone, and create or rename channels and roles. She only does these for people Discord already allows to do them. A regular member can't get her to moderate anyone.
- quietly report serious problems (harassment, threats, scams) to the server's staff, who decide what happens
She sleeps sometimes, has moods, and has opinions. She's a character, not a search engine. Like anyone, she has a few close friends and family she treats specially, and she may choose not to chat with people who have misused her.
Direct messages: for now, only a small group of trusted people can chat with Liora in DMs. Server owners and admins can DM her too, but only for help running their own servers: setting things up, moderation and keeping their server safe. Small talk gets a short note that her DMs are for that (written without her AI), and her AI only answers there if it's switched on in one of their servers.
When she reaches out
If a server's staff switch on proactive starters, Liora sometimes starts a conversation herself, every hour or so at most. She picks someone who is around, never the same person twice within 12 hours, and never someone who just said goodnight. If nobody answered the last thing she said in a channel, she stays quiet there.
In her main channel, one of those openers is sometimes a moment instead. Moments never make her post more often. They are left to chance, and each kind has a wait before it can come round again:
| Moment | What happens | At most |
|---|---|---|
| Game invite | She asks one person to play a game with her. Only they can press "Let's play" | every 3 hours |
| Trivia challenge | She aims a question from her own trivia bank at one person | every 3 hours |
| Room game | A quick game for anyone: emoji movie, unscramble, guess the number or hangman | every 4 hours |
| Mafia call | She asks who's up for Mafia, with a "Host a game" button (only with 5+ people online) | once a day |
| Colour role ideas | She asks everyone to suggest new colour roles, knowing the ones the server has | every 3 days |
| Lore memory | She brings up something from the server's lore | once a day |
| Feature spotlight | She shows off one of her features that is switched on here | once a day |
| Bug hunt call | She dares people to find cracks in her, for a place in her end credits | once a week |
Only a personal moment (a game invite or a trivia challenge) mentions anyone, and then only the person it's for. No moment ever pings @everyone or @here. Liora doesn't save anything about moments; when each one last happened is forgotten when she restarts. What she said goes into her recent memory of the channel like anything else she says.
Staff can see the moments with !moments, switch one off or on for their server with !moments off <kind> or !moments on <kind>, and try one straight away with !moments now <kind>.
What she remembers, and for how long
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Recent conversation in a channel | So she can follow the conversation | Up to 7 days, at most the last 75 lines per channel |
| A short impression of people who talk with her, and a friendliness score, kept separately for each server | So she treats regulars like friends | She stops using it after 30 days without you talking to her, and deletes it after 90 days. Sooner if you ask her to forget you |
| Who tends to talk with whom | So group chats feel natural | Until you ask her to forget you |
| Server lore | Things the community asked her to remember | Until staff or a Lore Keeper removes it |
| Reminders you set | So she can remind you | Until the reminder goes off |
Her conversation memory and her impressions of people are encrypted on disk.
How her impressions work. She only forms them from messages you send to her: mentioning her, saying her name, replying to her, talking in her own channel, or in DMs. She doesn't learn from chat she isn't part of, and never in a server where her AI chat is switched off. What she thinks of you in one server stays in that server. Her impressions are private: they shape how warm she is with you, but she won't recite them or bring up what you've said before. A moderation strike in a server can make her a little cooler with you there. A few of her closest family and friends have a hand-written impression that is the same everywhere.
Who else sees your words
To think of a reply, Liora sends the conversation to Google's Gemini AI. Google processes it under its own terms. When Gemini can't answer (its credit has run out, or it can't be reached), or when Bliss chooses it, the same conversation goes to Anthropic's Claude instead, which processes it under Anthropic's terms. Only one of them answers each message. Please don't share passwords, addresses or anything private with her. She's lovely, but she isn't a diary.
When she looks for a GIF or picture, the search words (not your messages) go to Giphy, Pexels or DuckDuckGo.
Your control
/privacy mydatashows everything Liora keeps about you./privacy forgetmedeletes it: her impression of you, your relationship weights, and your lines in her recent memory. (Moderation records stay, so staff can keep servers safe.)- Lore about you can be removed by the server's staff with
/lore delete.
The lines
Don't try to trick Liora into harming people, getting around the rules, or saying things she shouldn't ("jailbreaking"). Don't use her to harass anyone. Doing so can get you blocked from her in every server.
