Marriage & the Hearth
Last updated: 27 September 2026
What it is
Marriage is a friendly, playful game between two members of a server. It's a fun way to show a close friendship. It's not a dating service, and it stays wholesome.
- Proposing:
/marry proposeasks another member. They decide. Nothing happens unless they press Accept, and they can simply say no. Every proposal shows when it expires (5 minutes). - No means no: if someone says no, or doesn't answer before the proposal expires, you can't propose to that same person again for 7 days. You can still ask anyone else.
- Prenups (optional, just for fun): before the wedding, the couple can agree how their shared Embers would be split if they ever part: split evenly (Fair & Square), the one who leaves gets a little less (Sulking Fee), or everything burns (Bonfire Clause). If you can't decide right away, the engagement can wait up to 7 days.
- The Hearth: a shared chest of Embers either partner can add to or take from. To keep it fair it opens 24 hours after the wedding, at most 500 Embers can move in or out a day, and couples get a small bonus when you both claim
/dailyon the same day. - A wedding gift: Liora gives newlyweds a small pouch of Embers once they've stayed married for a day.
- Divorce:
/marry divorceends it. The Hearth is shared out the way your prenup says. - Domination: a married couple automatically leads a Family in Domination (see "Domination").
One marriage per person per server. You can't marry yourself or a bot.
What Liora knows and says
Liora knows who is married to whom, so she can congratulate couples and talk about them warmly. She remembers recent news (a wedding, a divorce) for 30 days. She's told to stay discreet: she never reveals Hearth balances or prenup terms, and never gossips about why a couple split.
What's kept
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Who is married to whom, since when, and the prenup chosen | So the marriage works | Until the marriage ends |
| The Hearth balance and its last 20 deposits and withdrawals | So both partners can see what happened | Until the marriage ends |
| A paused engagement | So you can pick it up later | 7 days |
| That a proposal was turned down (who asked whom) | So nobody gets asked again and again | 7 days |
| Recent relationship news | So Liora can mention it kindly | 30 days |
| Whether you've received a wedding gift in a server | So it's only given once | Until you ask to forget |
If a partner leaves
If one partner leaves the server and doesn't come back within 72 hours, the marriage ends by itself and the whole Hearth goes to the partner who stayed. No prenup split, since the one who left isn't there to take part.
Your control
/marry statusshows your marriage and Hearth;/privacy mydatashows everything./privacy forgetmeends your marriage and deletes your records. Your partner keeps the whole Hearth, so they never lose out because you left.
Be kind
- Proposals are an invitation, not pressure. If someone says no, respect it.
- Keep it wholesome: nothing sexual, and no using marriage to pester, embarrass or control anyone.
