Voice rooms
Last updated: 9 October 2026
What it does
Join the server's hub voice channel ( Make your room) and Liora makes you a voice room of your own, named after you, and moves you in. It's yours while you're in it, and she removes it a few seconds after the last person leaves.
From the control panel in the server's voice controls channel, the room's owner can:
- lock it, so nobody new can join (people already inside can step out and back in)
- hide it from the channel list (people already inside can still see it)
- raise or lower the user limit, or remove it
- disconnect someone from the room
- claim a room whose owner has left
- see info about the room
A room starts with the same permissions as its category, so a members-only category keeps rooms members-only.
Fair and safe
- Staff always see and can join every room, locked or hidden. Hiding a room never hides it from the moderators.
- Staff can't be disconnected by a room's owner, and staff can use the controls in any room.
- One room each. Joining the hub again takes you back to your own room. Liora won't make rooms for the same person more than once every few seconds, or more than 50 at once in a server, so the hub can't be used to flood the server.
- Server staff switch voice rooms on or off on Liora's dashboard, or set them up with
/voicerooms.
What she keeps
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Which voice room belongs to whom, and whether it's locked or hidden | So the controls know whose room it is | While the room is open; removed when it closes |
The room itself is an ordinary Discord voice channel while it exists. Liora doesn't record what's said in it, and doesn't keep a list of who joined.
